LAPALUE® Fabric
On the way to mvdham we were looking for a midlayer fabric out of natural fibers only. We could not find anything which is warming, regulating, light and natural. So we decided to develop something new.
Within the range of natural fibers we especially admire the natural functions of silk and wool. Silk is the perfect regulator. It reacts to our body temperature and keeps us either warm or cold depending on our needs. Wool keeps us warm and cosy but it is also a brilliant regulator. It can hold water around a 1/3 of its own weight and neutralizes smells.
We found a very light silk and merino perform fabric and quilted them together by using 100% Wool as insulation. We used a small grid for the padding and decided for wavy seams to achieve as much puff effect as possible.
The result is a new functional fabric which is warming, breathing, light, and out of natural fibers only. With this fabric we will neither feel too cold nor too warm. It is just the perfect regulator to our body temperature and a brilliant companion on our active way through the city.
Ventile®
Ventile® is a fascinating natural technical fabric made from 100% cotton. It is not only waterproof but also windproof and breathable. It suits our technical needs in the city perfectly, as we stay dry for at least one hour in heavy rain.
The finest long-stapled cotton is used for the spinning, and it is woven not only with one warp but with two warps to achieve this crisp and tear-resistant result. In addition, the fabric is PFE-free, meaning it does not contain perfluorinated elastomers often used for water repellency, making it a more environmentally conscious choice.
